On October 1st 2014 we became responsible for 5 mealworms, our little family of mealworms moved into a cardboard shoebox, where a bed of wheatbran awaited them. One of the first things we did was give them an apple as a house warming present. They seemed to make themselves at home, digging into the wheat bran cereal, however this could have been because they did not like the light.
We soon found that each meal mealworm had its own personality. We had a climber, one who was trying to escape the box, one who sadly was already dead and two who loved to walk around. Not only could the mealworms walk forward, they could walk backwards as well. They also seemed to enjoy chasing their bottoms.
Over the following several weeks we try different experiments to see what the mealworms could do, we also did some experiments when they entered their beetle stage. Throughout this website you will see all our findings, enjoy :)
